Buy it. You don't need any more information. Just buy it, and give it a chance. The first couple hours are kinda slow. Just keep playing the game. I don't need to talk about the deep, in-depth storyline. I don't need to talk about the smoothness of the upgrade system. I don't even need to speak about the rather cool twist VATS takes on FPS combat. I won't speak about the many, many side-missions in the game, or about their trademark quirkiness that comes with Bethesda games. Just buy the game.
Verdict: Get your credit card out. Now.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is the sequel (well, technically prequel, but whatever) that Deus Ex 1 deserved. The story is complex, and really feels like your decisions have an effect on it. Each choice you make changes the storyline is sometimes subtle, and sometimes drastic ways, and it really feels like you have some sort of impact.
Combat pretty standard FPS/OTS, but the fun in the game lies in finding ways to avoid combat. You can hack turrets to shoot down your opponents remotely, or sneaking around behind guards, or even pick up vending machines and place them in front of the entryways so enemies can't come in after you. There's a plethora of different ways to tackle each scenario presented to you, and it is in this that the game excels
My only real issue is with the boss fights, in that you're forced to fight them head on, unlike DE1, but other than those, DEHR is near-perfect.
Verdict: BUY THIS GAME. I would gush more about how awesome it is, but I'm out of space.
The best way to describe Borderlands is UTTER FUCKING CHAOS. What other game can you shoot somebody with your sniper rifle, consequently setting them on fire, switch to a shotgun that fires rockets that travel in semi-random patterns, run into a mob of midgets with axes, while getting shot at by a goliath with a machinegun that fires acidic bullets. It's ridiculous, it's silly, and it's loads of fun to play with friends. Playing it singleplayer does lose some of its fun, however.
Verdict: If you've got people to play with, it's worth a buy, but if you plan to play singleplayer, I would pass on it for full price. If it's on sale though, it's worth a purchase.
