The Story So Far...


After the 7 hour war, Breen was promoted to leader of the planet. Then, They came.. After the Combine rolled in with their military, things really took a turn for the worst.
There was violence, looting, vandalism.. It was terrible. The Combine sought to 'restore order' to the cities worldwide. If you call genocide and massacre
'restoring order,' then I guess they were right. Anyway, people were confined to cities, and huge Combine control points called a 'Nexus' were put into the cities,
mainly to keep an eye on the people there.
But there was resistance. Huge numbers of civilians took up arms against the murderous invaders, fighting back with anything they
had on hand, from rocket-launchers to crowbars. Most of the planet has become a barren warzone, but there are still some 'safer' places to live. Like City 18. It's safer, but it borders a huge warzone.
And the only thing connecting the two is a train station. No one gets in, No one gets out.
Daily life under the Metro Police was a living hell, due to daily raids on apartment blocks, general oppression, extreme rationing of food, and other tortures.
After a few months, an underground resistance was created in an effort to take down the Combine forces. The Combine get wind of it, and started to purge areas of suspected resistance in the city.
The resistance fought back, in more clandestine ways. Getting caught meant death, so every member swore an oath at induction, to uphold the secrecy. Arms are taken up on either sides, and the city waits in a tense
standoff. Who will make the first move?
