Can't say I'm pleased with the upcoming 'remake', but if it has done anything, it's that the word about the series as a whole has been spread liberally like smooth peanut butter. XCOM is the peanut butter and chocolate of the series, still highly aesthetically pleasing, with challenging missions and interesting and varied alien foes, weaponry and gadgetry. As well as an amazing atmosphere than can outright bring up feelings of dread, due in no small part to the chilling soundtrack. Of course, some people are allergic to peanuts, but if that isn't you and you have a fancy for turn-based strategy, you need to play this game.
