While the puzzle elements are more numerous the puzzles themselves are b it weaker than that of the predecessor. Often the puzzles involve finding the small portable surface hiding in the gigantic room rather than trying to determine where to place your portals on an entirely portable room.
The story more than makes up for any issues with the puzzle elements of the game. The humor is as pitch black as ever and characters are amazingly well crafted, unique, and specificity individual.
The real puzzling seems to come in the Co-Op campaign, a welcome addition to the series, while the single player is more like an interactive story, albeit a very good one.
An interesting set up for an MMO. It plays like a single-player campaign where only one 'mission' directly allows others, though you can easily do it all as a group. Then, the game becomes a sort of hub to a great many game modes ranging from several one map Death-match subtypes (think like TF2 map types) to the Alliance vs Alliance long term tournament. There are also co-op missions where you fight your way to a boss with 3 others and then try to take them down. All in all a good game for those whom like PvP. It is clean, uncomplicated, and aside from odd lag here and there, stable.
Think of it like a 3rd person MP shooter with persistent inventory and level set between maps.
This is probably the best Tower Defense game I have ever played, and possibly not to be surpased in the future.
The story is good, the towers are diverse, and the voice overs are witty.
