This game FAR exceeded my expectations. Great storyline, visuals, dialogue, and a decent combat system make this quite the experience.

I didnt like Mafia 1 much, but I figured I'd give this one a shot. It does away with all the excessive police fines and restrictions that the first game nagged about. You can still alert the police through speeding or hit-and-run incidents in this game, but now you can escape the police or choose to bribe them. The game appears to be open world and controls like a typical GTA game, but in actuality, its pretty linear. This isn't realy a bad thing. Its just something to keep in mind when playing. You wont have side quests or side missions to waste away time in the sandbox environment like you would in a typical GTA game. There are collectibles, but theyre all artwork and don't add any bonuses for your character.

Also, the game does a great job in connecting you to the main characters, which was the driving factor in me getting hooked.

Great storytelling and immersion.
This is a first-person exploration-based mystery-adventure game. It is relatively short and could probably be beaten in 3-4 hours. I took 5, since I spent a lot of time walking around and taking in the scenery. Cranked up to max settings, the world in this game looks incredible. I am literally using screenshots I took as my desktop backgrounds.

I highly recommend picking this up when it goes on sale.

Horrendous use of quicktime events in this game. Too often, youi'll find yourself relieved at finishing a particular gameplay sequence, or boss fight section, and then instantly get instakilled by a QTE.
The first half of the game was pretty mediocre and didn't feel much like a Resident Evil game. All those cloak-wearing non-zombies were really putting me off the game. Thankfully, the 2nd half the game picked up and did away with those cultists (for the most part). If QTEs didn't exist in this game, I would agree with all those bandwagoning review sites that this game is great and worthy of all its ports and remakes. Unfortunately, that isn't the case...
Anyway, there are plenty of weapons, along with the ability to purchase upgrades for them. Collectibles are worth finding, since you can combine some of them and sell them to purchsae your weapon upgrades. Boss fights are pretty neat (except for the one in the Ada mission since it's riddled with QTEs), and storytelling was done well.

TLDR: If you never played this game before, you should probably play the Wii version (I assume QTEs are esier to deal with on Wii).

Pretty good platformer!

Oozi has some pretty simple platforming mechanics, but uses them so well to provide a somewhat challenging experience with a good flow. Some levels can be frustratingly difficult, but it feels damn satisfying to get to a checkpoint after the tough parts. I'm glad there are various checkpoints throughout the levels, since they are relatively long.

The game consists of four worlds with five levels and a boss fight in each world. The environments, enemies, and music are all unique to each world. I have to say that I loved the soundtrack. Even on challenging levels where I was forced to listen to the same song for tens of minutes, I was still bobbbing my head to it. Along with the story mode, there are also over 30 challenge levels to prolong the experience.

Short & sweet.

Simple point & click adventure with a unique character interaction mechanic for some puzzles.
Some puzzles can be a bit tedious, but the game is only about 1.5 hours long, so its not really an issue.
The art style does a good job combining cuteness with some pretty dark scenes.
Because of the contrast, some scenes (death scenes) can feel prety graphic.
Also, this is the first game I ever played where I actually enjoyed looking through the concept art gallery (unlocks through progression).

So good that I sat through the black screen credits!!!

Everything in this game is put together and presented so well. The tactical 3rd-person combat with a slew of skills to cast made for some damn good fun. Compelling voice-work combined with a great soundtrack and storyline make the non-combat parts of this game very entertaining to sit through.

BioWare's signature dialog options are available too, but don't always turn out to be what you expect. I don't know why they don't make the dialog options more clear. Many times Shepard (the protagonist) says something completely extreme to what the dialog option appears to be. Anyway...thats just a minor gripe. Its still fun to be caught off guard by the results of some of the dialog options.

Character skill trees allow you to build your team to fit your playstyle. You can choose to invest in mage-like biotic skills, or beef out your weapon proficiency, or dabble in bits of both.

I did find myself spending a lot of time in exploration and side-missions. The worlds are littered with bits of information that help in telling the full backstory. Side missions tend to have decent independent stories as well. My only gripe with them is that the maps for the side missions got somewhat repetitive after while. It wasn't too big of a concern since the worlds usually look pretty different form each other.

It took me a while to finally get around to playing this game. As a bonus, it looks pretty great when played with the M.E.U.I.T.M HD mod. I spent about 37 hours in Mass Effect. I definitely recomment playing it.

Great sequel to the Max Payne series!

I remember hearing a lot of complaints about the single player campaign for this game, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The storytelling is done very well with excellent voice work. Envorionments are detailed and beautiful, especially in the outdoor stages. It helps that the graphics in general look amazing when cranked up to maximum quality. Its no wonder that the game takes up 33gb in harddrive space.

Combat has evolved very well in Max Payne 3. Being able to enter bullet-time and visually see Max run past streaming bullets is quite satisfying. Not as satisfying as watching a closeup slo-mo of a bullet popping the blood bag in an enemie's head. The gore really is top notch here. IT may not be realistic, but it damn sure looks good on screen.

I actually found the combat to be quite challenging. This is the first game where I actually had to turn the difficulty down to the lowest level. I may not be the greatest at shooters, but I did manage to beat the Crysis games on max difficulty.

Anyway, I highly recommend this game, even if you only touch the single player. I only played a few minutes of multiplayer, so I can't really comment on that. It does look like they added much content to the multiplayer since release.

GREAT!

If you're looking for a good Metroidvania-style game, Guacamelee is a great fast-paced, action heavy entry to the genre. The combat mechanics are simple, but execute to look quite flashy and complicated when chaining combos and dodging enemy attacks. Once you begin to feel a mastery for the combat, the game throws in an extra challenge of having to break color-coded enemy shields with specific skill moves.

Platforming is at its best in Gucamelee. Skills and jumps need to be chained together to reach heard to reach areas. Late game platforming becomes quite challenging when the dimension switching mechanic is introduced. I wont bother explaning it, but it really pushes you to time your movements perfectly.

To top it all off, the art style is colorful and refreshing accompanied by a comical storyline. Even after completing the game, there are several challenge levels available, along with some backtracking to uncover all the upgrades, collectibles, and secret areas.

AND there is coop. Its only local coop, but its nice to have that option available.

BEST bejewled-style game I've ever played!

I played this game for months on my PSP back in the day. I could be mistaken, but I believe this is the game that was the catalyst to the creation of so many puzzle-rpg hybrid games.

It does a great job in tuning out the monotony of a Bejewled game by adding in rpg elements. Each gem color signifies mana, which are used to cast skills, which you learn as your character gains levels and completes side-quest puzzles. Each match is a battle against an enemy that you encounter on your quest. Your character traverses a map that is similar to the world map in Final Fantasy Tactics. Certain locations on the map can be captured as your territory, and then upgraded to provide you with gold revenue and other benefits. Items can also be found and bought for your character to grant additional perks.

To compare this to other bejeweled games, such as: Puzzle Quest 2, Legend of Fae, Bejeweled 3, Marvel Puzzle Quest...
I enjoyed this game the most.

Garbage!

The whole thing feels about as boring as a tutorial to a character creation wizard.
Its charming for about 5 minutes, until you realize that the entire "game" plays like the first 5 minutes.
I'm glad I made back the cost of the game by selling the Steam Trading Cards...
