G'day!
When it comes to gaming, I’m a big fan of the Half-Life series. It's as simple as that. I’m also a big fan of such series/games as Deus Ex, Fallout, Mass Effect, Starcraft, Command & Conquer, Age of Empires, The Elder Scrolls, Marathon (I actually think the Marathon trilogy is superior to Halo...), Valve's Multiplayer games and pretty much anything by Will Wright. Of course, I will say that if I were to list ALL the games I own, I'd probably blow up Valve headquarters... Then I'd commit suicide, because I blew up Valve headquarters...
Nonetheless, to gauge my overall interests, I mostly like the Sim., FPS, RTS and hybrid Shooter (FPS/TPS)/RPG genres. I also love hopping online sometimes. Team Fortress 2 is my main port of call in that area.
I strive to be a good sport online and would rather like such attitudes to rub off into the minds of... some people. I use my microphone most of the time and love, love, LOVE teamwork!
In general, my favourite genre of any media is science fiction. Yep, I do like Star Trek. (Though not a complete and utter die-hard fan) Star Trek: Deep Space Nine is my favourite, which otherwise makes me a 'Niner', I suppose. The new Battlestar Galactica, Farscape, Stargate (though I really can't get into SG-1 anymore, I prefer Atlantis) and Doctor Who are great as well! I also enjoy stuff like 24, Family Guy and a further cavalcade of T.V. shows, especially a lot of Australian shows like our own Thank God You're Here!.
I have a great interest in graphic design, drama and writing. My 'tools of the trade' include such programs as Macromedia Flash 8, Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 (unfortunately...), Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9.0, Sound Forge Audio Studio 9.0 amongst a couple of others.
Music wise, I'm into Alternative Rock/Metal and most other Rock/Metal, Aussie Hip-Hop, Techno/Electronica/Drum & Bass, Jazz (Ethiopian Jazz by Mulatu Astatke is AWESOME!!), the sort of 'epic' orchestral music you get in countless Sci-Fi and Fantasy soundtracks, Ren & Stimpy-style production music and I really love some of the oldies featured in the Fallout games, though its certainly extended beyond just that.
Some of my favourite bands/musicians include Linkin Park, Coldplay, Kings of Leon, Pendulum and Queen amongst some others.
Internet wise, I primarily enjoy stuff like movies, comics, a couple of blogs, forums, essays/articles (especially on the analytical and recapping side of things) and parodies etc. In a nutshell - I like a good laugh, a good watch or even just a good read.
