Update as of 100%-ing the game:

Definitely still a fun experience, despite all the performance and technical issues it had. Devs have continuously updated the game at a steady cadence and the complaints people had with the game has been mostly addressed (e.g. enemy leashing, easy bosses, mob density, balancing, lock-on) and the devs have released a roadmap on what we can expect on future updates. Still not a perfect game, and issues are still there, but it did not detract too much from the general experience of the game, and I'm still itching to jump back in despite already hitting that 100%.

Old Review:

This one is fun. I was hesitant to recommend it at first, since it had multiple technical and performance issues on launch (I was crashing almost once an hour), and balance is off kilter at the moment, but recent and immediate patches within the first week seems to have resolved a large portion of that (at least for the PC players). There are still some issues here and there, but it's currently at a state that I can say it's worth playing. Easily an 8/10 (10/10 in my book)

It brings me back to the old Dark Souls days, where exploration is rewarded with items and shortcuts, showcasing the connectivity of the world. The game encourages you to use the new Umbral lamp mechanic to peer into the other world in order to solve certain puzzles, and to traverse through areas that are, otherwise, unreachable. But it could take you to a place where soulless creatures roam around, attracted to your uninvited presence. The Gothic art style is also a massive draw to the attention, and the setting and locales leave you wanting to explore the world of Mournstead.

For a quick breakdown:
Pros-
+'Seamless' Co-op and PvP
+Umbral mechanic with its two worlds is a fresh take on the genre
+Diverse builds with 3 schools of magic and a slew of weapon types, armors, and accessories
+Setting and Art direction is attractive
+Interconnected locations and multiple shortcuts
+NG+ actually changes how you play. Most Vestiges (bonfires) are removed
+Combat is really fun and intuitive once you surpass that initial learning period

Neutral-
=Again, combat mechanics aren't for everyone and takes some adapting, but once you get used to it, it's quite very good
=Balance is off. Some builds are better than others (Radiant is crazy powerful)
=Enemy Density and NG+ is in contention within the player base at the moment
=Cheap enemy positioning. Not too bad if you're used to souls-like, but it's definitely more prevalent here

Cons-
-Technical issues plague the game on release (since been patched out mostly)
-Same case with performance issues
-Bosses are easy on NG. The first couple of bosses are the hardest only because of the adaptive period.
