Soldier, Sniper, Spy...Scout. if it starts with an 'S' I'll play it!
Texas, United States
Okay, maybe I'll play anything but that's besides the point.
Not much to say here. I'm a quiet guy so don't be offended if we haven't chatted in awhile. If ya want to chat then just send a PM!
Huge tech & science enthusiast, if I don't know how to fix something then I at least know how to break it! Do I even need to mention computers? Anyway I game for the fun and ensuing hilarity, but I can be quite competitive when I decide to play seriously. You were warned!
"You can always tell a Texan, but you can't tell him much."
"You just ain't doin' it right."
"It ain't gettin' any harder for me to kill ya!"
"Dagit nagit nabit fagit!"
"You cannot burn me, I do not have time to combust!"
"I just wish y'all could see how bad I'm kickin' yer tail!"
"I just rode you out on a rail, down under."
"One sniper to another, mate. Give. Up!"
"Gotcha, crouton."
If you enjoy tower defense, this is one is turning into a classic. The towers and physics are well done and there are subtle nuances that the detail-oriented strategy player will enjoy. Every few months more and more free content gets added, although today there is enough maps and a dozen various types of challenge modes each to last any one player for hours. The character and story are better than average too, this game is well worth a few dollars.
Just to give an idea of how this game was designed.... controls can not be modified from the main menu, only from within missions! Pausing in a mission means the user can't navigate the menus. Therefore, the only time someone can modify key or joystick commands is during a live mission, and it's not a simple process. This is only compounded by the fact that none of the keys are mapped to the commands listed in the various X3 guides.
All in all, I really can't recommend this game at all. I had high hopes for it, but this is nothing like Freespace or the iconic Tie Fighter games. Even Xwing vs Tie Fighter had more in-depth ship systems management, this game seems focused on everything outside the ship. Turned into a big let down. And to believe, more DLC and a series reboot X: Rebirth is coming out soon...
Silly, addicting little game! Surprisingly well-designed for a freebie, and unlike most F2P games players don't need to spend a dime to play the later levels.
