Call of Pripyat is a game that is a natural sequel to ShoC. Although it has fewer areas to explore, the amount of detail in each is staggering and the design is much more open, leading to less running into fences and what not. The addition of Blowouts is a great touch, and the roleplaying takes a queue from Fallout this time around, lending itself to more decisions on how to side with, and the benefits for doing so.
You can also repair weapons and the mods you can acquire are much, much more numerous and functional, beyond simple silencer + scope + gl. A lot of dummied out features make a return, from unused weapons, armor, enemise, and lore-elements. The anomalies are also much more dangerous.
Again, the AI is a complaint. It is equal parts smart (dogs will form packs against you and hunt you down, human ai will flank you) and dumb (human ai in an emission has weird priorities, choosing to casually walk to safe cover rather than running like mad).
