Frankly amazing horror game with such a simple minimalist style. the definition of letting the player imagine how terrifying the world and it's monsters are, without properly seeing it themselves.

Quite simply GOTY material. Not only is the card game excellent, but once again, Mullins manages to utterly nail a semi-meta style of storytelling in an engaging way. A must-play, for sure!

This game is a very tricky Mystlike game that is exceptionally rough around the edges. Some of the logic is not easily conveyed. I got stuck on the first few levels until I understood it was a game of colour-mixing, and it fell into place a bit.

At random times, the game decides to hyperfocus on a single aspect - be it a word, a musical tune or otherwise. These focuses can cross entire islands in this game. You likely will need a walkthrough the first time. Some aspects - like a later Quarry level - are not very intuitive and many things require you specifically click in specific elements, like handles or keyholes on doors.

However, despite these flaws and difficulties, I would recommend this game. I'd suggest getting it on sale, £13 is a bit steep for a game this rough around the edges. But it is certainly not a regrettable experience. It is clear this is a first attempt, and for that, it is a very good game. I look forward to the next game where I am certain the experience and feedback from this game will help the quality of the next.

Early Access Review
This game looks interesting, but it is severely lacking. The "Chapter 0" is a barren town, where you need to find Xs on the walls, and around the X, is a collectable. You do this 4 times, to the tune of a small audio prompt and a static, non-combative change to the environment in the form of static models performing idle loops.
You then repeat this. 2 further times. In the same town.

The only excitement came from Chapter 1/2, which was a short chase, leading to a "puzzle" which is very hit and miss. You will be recreating that chase over and over. from the start. The chase lasts about 2 minutes until you get another oppertunity. Even then, the puzzle is to find 3 statues, go onto one of the 3 bloody circles and press a button corrosponding to the statue you collected, and hope it was right. Repeat twice more, then it ends with the same ending as the game over.

There is no plot. There is no tangible threat for the first hour+ of the "gameplay". It is a glorified easter egg hunt in what is no doubt a unity asset store town. you can't even climb the ladders, and there are many places you can get stuck, unable to complete the game.

A big disappointment. I expected at least a bit more from this.

As an aspergic gay guy, I am so thrilled to play Sexual Segregation: The Game. Just segregate out the gays and lesbians, put the heterosexuals in groups to the side, lump all the FTM-/MTF- people together, ensure the MTF+/FTM+ people are paired off (Because they're somehow more picky than MTF-/FTM- people?) and then dump the bisexuals into whatever space remains. Easy!

If you too feel you would make a great social planner, and you believe in complete sexual segregation, then this game is perfect for you! :U

Full disclosure, I backed this via Kickstarter.

The aesthetics are good and the music is amazing. Sadly, the story, controls and lack of clear objective or paths ruins this game for me. I can barely even play the game, and from what I've played, I know I won't finish the whole game.

The max mouse sensitivity is still abysmally low, and turning can take up to 2 meters of in-game floor to complete. There is no precise turning at all. Everything seems to be a fight against the game's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ controls

Not only that, but for keyboard users, forget knowing any of the controls. you can't rebind them, and they are NEVER stated properly. The entire control setup for the game is obscured and unknown.

Further, the cameraman is on ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cocaine if I've ever seen it. This is some of the worst 3rd-person camera work ever. Imagine Super Mario 64, and make it even worse.

The biggest issue is controls and the camera. I can get past everything else and praise this game. I can get past a mediocre story, a lackluster "big bad" etc etc, but I can't get past the controls. It's a non-starter. When your controls are worse than the Nintendo 64 game that inspired your game, you must know that you've ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. Until they're fixed, I can only downvote this.

During and after playing this game, all I could do to explain it, was that this game was "me".

As an environment designer, while my designs aren't as out there as the ones presented, I fully understand this game and the mindset of all involved. This game connected to me on a very intimate level, which genuinely shook me while playing it. I found all of my own experience and mannerisms as an environment designer kick in, noticing many little details that normal players would never see, and understanding them from a very personal viewpoint. I fully understood exactly what was meant.

If you are not in game design, this might not speak as strongly to you. I honestly don't know. To me, though, this game has so much more of an impact, if you work behind the curtain. This game, while being sold to the public, feels to me like it is not for the people who play games. It is for the people who make the games to be played.

I do not know if the events portrayed are real or not, but regardless of if they are, I certainly hope all involved, particularly the story focus, get some closure. While it will mean next to nothing, I'd also want to note, for the game developers, that I completely understand this game, and the meanings behind it and every chapter within it. Or at least, I certainly hope I do.

This is a game with chess that is free, with integrated multiplayer.

It has ads, yes. But they can be removed for a reasonable price.

The dev team have been quick to fix bugs, and have kept in constant contact with the community. The game is plain, and could do with some improving. But it is clear that they listen, and for any issues, just approach the devs through the discussions.

On a side note, anyone complaining that this game is free, and saying that is a bad thing? You are absolute morons. It is free, and to try to use that as a negative purely on the basis of it's being free is inherently anti-consumer. You can literally test out if this game is for you, without paying a penny up front. Buy premium if you want to feel like you've bought this game. otherwise, just enjoy that it's free.

Of everything on steam, a decent, free chess game with a responsive developer is a breath of fresh air, compared to all the pay-for Slaughtering Grounds and Temper Tantrums that just want your money and don't care about quality.

Of course, this isn't the best chess game out there. but with the dev team pushing through the bugs, and their quick response time to critique, I've no doubt in my mind that this game will get better.

Before I start, I recomend The 7th Guest as a game. I do not recommend the Steam version, but the iPad version instead.

Aside from glaring speed issues, this game is still a great. Put those issues aside, and the puzzles are challenging, the rooms are perfectly designed, and the drama, while cheesy, still has a charm to it. This game inspired me to go down the path of environmental design.

That said, the speed of the game does ruin the Steam version completely. It makes you fearful of experementing, or making mistakes. One mistake could lead to ten more minutes of agonisingly slow moves. If you want to get the full, great expirience, get the iPad version. The game cutscenes/effects on that version have been sped up to much more sensible levels.
