To be honest, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of actual time travel game mechanics in this episodic Back to the Future game,as I'm one of those crazy people who're still waiting for a re-release of Day of the Tentacle. That said, this is still a fantastic adventure title in the same vein as the Monkey Island and Sam & Max games, with plenty of classic Back to the Future humor and characters.
Without a doubt a worthy successor to the original game. Portal 2 not only continues the story of the struggle between the human test subject Chell and the insane AI GLaDOS, but also puts exciting new spins on the pre-existing Portal gameplay mechanics. Very fun and exciting, and doesn't overstay its welcome while still managing to have great value.
Very interesting world and nice/spooky atmosphere. Although it uses the standard health regeneration system, it makes up for it with how gas masks are handled. (You have to change your gas mask's filter regularly while using it, and if the gas mask is too badly damaged in battle you have to find another before the lethal air kills you.)
There seems to be a lot of variety to the weapons as well. You can carry one of each category, and my own recent favorite is a sort of shotgun with 5 shells loaded into it and a bayonette mounted on it. Also picked up a pistol that's pretty much modded into a silenced sniper rifle.
Military grade ammunition is the currency in Metro 2033. Not bottle caps or anything like that. There's a limited supply, but I haven't been tempted to use it for actual ammunition yet, as the low-grade ammo seems to work well enough.
Anyway, it's been fun so far. I recommend trying it out.
