79th ID is now The 79th.

The 79th Infantry Division, established in November of 2009, was a Day of Defeat: Source unit focused on mature, respectable gameplay. It's founders, Kanlaki101, Tomato, and INSAgent split off from a realism unit called the 507th PIR. It was decided in one day amongst them that they would start a new group called the 79th Infantry Division. They bought a server and domain for a site and the group was started. They decided to throw out conventional realism structure and just used military ranks to designate leadership roles within the group. Membership grew pretty quickly with Wrobels being their first recruit who to this day is a faithful member and owns the server on which we play on. Unfortunately down the road the founders ran into some problems in the real world and couldn't be around as much and we started to lose members from frustration. A name change along with how the group was structured was proposed to keep the group on its feet. Thus the group became the PRA (Padded Room Allstars). This however didn't help the the situation much. As more members moved on less pubbers visited the server. To make a long story short, the leadership at the time decided to change the group name back to something more familiar and thus we became just "The 79th". At present the group is basically a group of friends who have fun playing in the Wrobles' server. There are currently no requirements to join The 79th. Just make a post on the forum stating you're interested and put on the tag and follow the server rules.
