It's dark here, you are likely to be eaten by a grue...
After a long night in the cellar tending the infernal oven of Mephistopheles, forging malevolent Creamy Gurgles and Ghastly Burp-ups for the unwary, I retire to to my chamber, play a recording of hot jazz backward, put my RF fantasmask on set to the "menacing erotic malevolence" setting, slip into a bath and reach into my doppelgangerhole; where the numberless, feculent corpses of Wotan dance their unending seduction of Shaitan. Then, I am ready to live my lies in ghoulish perpetuity. -Paula

A charming and whimsical little game. Stacking has the odd porting issue but they are few and far between. The game puzzles are easy enough to knock over without too much work for your grey matter, and I wouldn't have minded a real challenge thrown in from time to time. The graphics are beautiful and well utilized to bring to life this amazing little babushka (sp?) doll world.
Stacking is a must have for any game collection, it's pretty, it's fun, it's not even slightly irritating. Buy it now!
Don't let the high metacritic score fool you, this game is frustratingly flawed in its campaign map AI. Time and time again the immersion is absolutely ruined by having a vassal, ally or enemy do something completely batshit crazy, like when your largest ally declares war on your vassal, so you have the option of losing honour (useful thing to have) or going to war with your ally to protect your vassal. (WTF?)
Other times you get half of bloody Japan deciding to go to war with you all at once. This can be especially frustrating when you've only got a few provinces.
The combat is okay, not great, the graphics are pretty, the game runs well. But it's just too frustrating with its shitty AI. The total war series has always had shitty AI, and this game is no different.
Terrible gameplay, very ordinary graphics, the storyline is bland and unimaginative and the voice acting is like flying a space craft through a bad episode of neighbours.
They should have paid ME to play this steaming pile of shit.
