HateforgeIf you have ever played a metroid title and enjoyed it, I can nearly guarantee you will enjoy this game.
This game makes some really impressive use of the destruction engine that powered the previous game, Red Faction Guerilla. By adding in the ability to repair things you destroy, the game is able to actually have paths that make use of man-made structures that are necessary for progression.
The enemies start to feel a little bland toward the end of the game, along with some pretty formulaic mission design.
Overall this game leaves me wanting more. More enemies, more varied environments, more ways to destroy things in the environment. This is not to say that what they have is not awesome. What they have achieved is a really fun game that really makes me want to play more of it. But there isn't any more, which is too bad.
I'd wait for this one to go on sale before you pick it up.
I came into this game with very low expectations. Surprisingly, this game turned out to be very fun.
The one thing that struck me as one of the wisest design decisions was the flexibility of the classes. You choose one of 4 roles, but each role can ultimately do more than one task. DPS, Tank, Heal or Support, you will probably be able to do 3 of these effectively as any class in the game.
If you're looking for an MMO to play with your friends for the summer, pick this one up.
