Does everything Sanctum did wrong right. Does everything Sanctum did right better.
Evolving from a concept of First Person Tower-Defense, Sanctum 2 could be called just a Defense Shooter - expect to be doing a lot of running and gunning with towers serving as help more than doing all the work for you. Good music, explosions and hordes of aliens to mow down - what's not to like?
It's hard to say more than that it's good. Deus Ex good.
Imagine they finally served you orange instead of Lemon-Lime - that's how I felt playing it. Also, I never asked for this ;)
This game is one of the titles I heard bad things about from... people that never played it.
Turns out - it's not bad. It's actually pretty solid. The graphics may not be amazing, but they're far from being an eyesore. Some of the animations feel a bit artificial, but most of them are fine.
What shines in this game however, is water. And it's simply amazing: spilling through holes, tossing the player and objects around, waving and generally... being itself. I'd call it the most realistically behaving water in games so far.
Buy it if:
- You like water.
- You don't mind ACCENTS (SOMEONE there sounds like Ms. Navarre from Deus Ex. Also the heroine's voice, according to some, is awful. I don't mind.)
Don't buy it if:
- accent-sensitive (you'll probably die)
- don't like water (you'll probably drown)
- have a single-core CPU (I know some people are out there, so a fair warning: a dualie IS something you want for this game.)
