This is just... An amazing masterpiece, Just when I thought the horde genre was getting old, I gave L4D2 a spin, I don't even think it's possible to get bored of this game, every single run is completely different due to the AI Director, he'll change weapon placement, item placement, zombie placement, and even alter the maps, so that every experience is completely unique. Also, playing as the zombie is just as fun as playing as the survivor, sometimes even moreso, with a good collection of special infected you can play as, this game also requires a MASSIVE amount of cooperative communication, as either side, it really makes you plot out and think your next move, one bad move could mean death, and for the survivors it's permanent.

Overall, great game, definitely best in its genre for horde survival co-op. 10/10.

Great dungeon crawler where every run through the game comes with a unique set of rules, monsters/rooms you'll encounter, and much more. Sometimes there's a key for every door, sometimes theres not, sometimes you'll find the skeleton or golden key, and have way more keys than needed, other times you'll find a very scarce amount and be faced with choices you normally wouldn't have to make, all depends on your luck and skill to make it out alive.

For strategy games, this one takes the cake, and eats it too. The modding community is strong with this one, every game is different, no two are alike. Multiplayer is nice, and with final update smooth, enjoyable experience all around. If you're into building up a civilization from the ground up over the course of 6500 years, making diplomatic decisions with other empires, whilst protecting yourself from barbarians and finding ancient ruins all in the process, this game is for ye.

Best in the genre, by far. All heros available from the start, tons of customization with the ingame items, great AI for practice in 5 seperate AI levels.
Gameplay is best described as........ Well, it's the sequel to the game that created its own genre, you really have to play it to see what it's like, it's a mixture of rpg, rts, and fast paced action.
Reasons why I would recommend over LoL, HoN, or similar game?: All heros unlocked from start, the game that started it all, updated much more frequently, every hero plays completely uniquely, demands teamwork, and a lot of fun to play overall.

Complete sandbox, really fun to play, especially with mods (don't get me wrong, the vanilla game is amazing, but this is one of those games, like skyrim, that is much better when modded, usually.) There is a huge modding community, but aside from that. Gameplay is relatively simple, simple, but amazingly fun. Start off with a pickaxe, axe,and sword, and make your living, each world is randomly generated, so every adventure is different, in the beginning it's quite hard to get started up, as at night zombies completely overpower you in the beginning, so set up shelter for the first night, or spend the night underground collecting material.
There's softcore, mediumcore, and hardcore, Hardcore will force you to play conservatively, and explore the aspects of the game much more carefully, as once you die as hardcore, your character is deleted. Even with max hp, and best armor I wouldn't randomly travel in hardcore. Game ish hard to explain, need to try it for yourself to see its potential

Do you like hats? Do you like war based simulators based around the core concept of collecting, trading, and selling said hats? Then you should try Hat Fortress 2, The best free to play game of 2012 (so far). Completely free, except until you make a $0.49 minimum purchase, you wont be able to start collecting hats, and will make to make due with the war based hat simulator, minus the hats, using weapons.
