While the gameplay and lore and graphics are nice and enjoyable, I could not play the game with my previous computer because of repetitive game breaking crashes. The config had a GTX 1080.

After building a new PC, I am finally able to play, but still experienced lots of crashes at the end of missions. The only fix was to do another mission instead of the one intended, so that the crash did not occur again and again.

This is without mentioning the abusive achievements "complete 100 seasons" and "complete 1000 seasons", which would require you to play for thousand of hours, on a game which has a lifespan between 30 to 50 hours.

Also worth pointing out, the soundtrack is nearly inexistant.

If you like Mad Max and wasteland like scenery, i'd recommend this game. Else, there are plenty of other games to pick from.

Queue for 45 min, play for 15 minutes, crash for no reason, queue for another 800 places.
Awesome!

Why no reservation system where your slot stays for 10 minutes?
Queue/10 - Would wait again!

I change my review from negative to positive, because a couple of significant improvements were introduced over time.

The good:
- Large amount of characters
- Fun to play with friends

The neutral:
- Skills pricing is questionable
- Cannot skip the intro disclaimers, and game only work when connected online
- Not enough bosses and maps
- A system has been added to reconnect in case of crash/disconnect, and not loose your character. However, the character keeps getting the last known input probably, sometimes keeps moving forward to death.
- PvE is still not rewarding enough
- Some features, require "blood bonds" which can be purchased, or earned with a lot of grinding. Unfortunately, this is balanced towards paying, with a bit of pay to win as well.

The bad:
- Hit register is very questionable from time to time, especially from very close and with shotguns.
- The bow has been nerfed and rendered nearly unplayable. The power range tradeoff is not even considered anymore. Why play a bow that deals less damage and has less range than even suppressed weapons? No incentive, even with perks.
- When all the players with boss rewards have extracted, you have to rush to extract within 5 minutes, otherwise you loose your character. This means that you can potentially loose your character if you try to revive someone you play with. This kinda forces most people to not go PvP and abandon their soon to be "ex-friends" to avoid danger and extract.
- Graphics are average, and there are visual glitches.
- Gun feeling is average and some of the weapons are really useless
- Sound balance and "direction" overall is average
- The amount of legendary skins/weapons added to the game, confuse the base players, because you sometimes have no clue of what you picked on the ground.

This game is a fun game, especially when played with friends. Your mileage may vary.

Tried to play again after the last update, just to die of hunger after 1H30 of survival.
Apparently I did not eat the mandatory 20kg of food per day and died within 30 minutes IRL.

Will spend ages looking at the ground for food during my travels again/10

I pre-ordered this game for 46€ if I remember, and in it's current state it's absolutely worth every cent.
Worth noting the Hell's Rangers DLC is useless.

Positive:
- Long lifetime. Count 40 to 50 hours for a single character.
- Coop campain (same as solo)
- Packed with action and gore
- Lots of cosmetic variations
- Interesting ennemies
- Awesome level design and lore
- Many game setting options

Negative:
- You have to be connected to play, even solo. This means you can get thrown out if you lose connection.
- End game balance has too much grind and is not compelling, as you will repeat over and over the same levels, just to get that single piece of gear you need. Especially between Tiers 7 to 12. It could be avoided just by offering more gear at traders, better rewards, or even better, requiring less titanium to upgrade existing gear.
- When you die in an expedition, you will not get any gear, unless you hit retry and open the loot crate. Same happens if you crash for some reason.

Neutral:
- The abilities/skills possibilities are somewhat limited
- Trader prices are a joke
- So much actions that the game close itself sometimes
- Storyline is decent but could be better for sure
- Inventory menus could be better

This game clearly needs more polish, as it fails to deliver on many aspects which made games such as Quake, Doom and Painkiller great, however it has a good vibe. Thanks to the cool soundtrack.

This game is a school project/pure beginner type of game, so don't let the trailers fool you.
For the price I cannot complain really.

While enjoyable this game unfortunately falls short on many aspects. Chaosbane has a short lifespan and rather limited content which do not justify the price tag of 30€ at the time of this review.

I recommend this game only if you can get it for cheap and you like the genre.

Positive aspects:
- The sound is nice, despite a volume issue at the end of the story.
- The few cinematics are great
- The warhammer lore is well represented, and great attention to details make the art team deserve an ovation.
- The maps and assets are detailed and represent the warhammer universe very well. Same as above, it has to be said!
- Free 4K textures
- 5 classes with different play styles (6 if you count a paid DLC).
- The controls are customizable enough, and you don't have to fiddle with graphic options and files to get the game in a good playable state.
- The game is very stable. It never crashed during the game sessions, and even with many alt/tab. I wish more devs would care about this.
- Has MP if you want to play with friends (there is no real incentive however).

Negative aspects:
- The storyline/progression is a long borring corridor. It is the same with every character and has a "boring" conclusion.
- Game life is artifically increased by moving NPCs and by using long map sections, which turn the game into a walking simulator, in particular if your character is slow. You will be using movement enhancing abilities very often just for these purposes.
- Not enough maps. The same assets are re-used over and over, and no randomness is a huge NO in these type of games.
- Mobs and champions AI is terrible (quantity over quality)
- Difficulty is synthetic and game mechanics/values are unbalanced
- Endgame is just grinding for rare items and levels, in the hope you can improve the character enough to increase the difficulty.
- There are bugs with the game tips, popping here and there for no reason.
- Witch Hunter is a paid DLC

Conclusion:
While this game is far from perfect, you will surely be able to enjoy it for what it is. Don't expect a gem or advanced possibilities such as the ones offered in a game like Path of Exile.

The DLCs and their outrageous price probably demonstrate that the devs/studio were low on cash and struggled to complete the game. You don't need to be a marketing expert to clearly see that these DLCs are certainely not worth the price asked for, especially since they do not seem to offer anything interesting, appart for the Witch Hunter class. But yet again 10€ for a single character is a stretch. You can buy complete games for less than that.
