Having had this game since its release, I got to spend a very long time with it. A game with no objective leaves you worrying that there is not enough to do. That's what i thought when and that's how i felt. After piling up quite a few hours on this game, playing non-stop through the night, i reached a point where i felt like i had conquered this game and that there was nothing left to it. Until recently i returned to find that the game had been change dramatically. I felt like a noob again and that reinvigorated my sense of exploration and awe, as this truly is an expansive world. All in all this is a great game for everyone and it always brings me joy to help out a new player.
This game has got to be one of the best indie titles out there. If you are a fan of indie games this is a must-have. This game can be summarized in one sentence: Little Big Planet meets I Wanna Be The Guy on crack. Unless you want to torture yourself for hours on end then don't get this game because it is F*cking hard. This is one of the few games where you WILL die in the tutorial. But put that aside this is an amazing game. A great platformer with lots of variety and with a fanbase as huge as a country the user-generated content is just AMAZING. The replay feature of this game is a great tool to show off your epicness and there is also Steam leaderboard to show-off your mad skills to the world. Four words: Super Meat Boy Rules!!!
Aside from the very bad response I got from navigating this game's menu, I found this game to be generally enjoyable. Straight up this game is hilarious. There is so much about this that I love. From first glance one could say "another Diablo clone for PC", but in fact this is far from being just another diablo clone. So there isnt equippable armor and sure there aren't any real quests (though there is one quest that you get an achievement for) but this game keeps it real simple. Magicka slaps down 8 elements at your disposal. You can combine them and mix them any way you want. The most fun in this game is experimenting and finding out all the possible combinations you can make. There are a number of external references in this game which adds to what this game is mainly about: HAVING FUN WITH FRIENDS. Sure you could play single player but after completing the game, finding all the Magicks, and earning all achievements, nothing beats blasting your friend in the back with fire.
