The game succeeds with an astonishing visual style with many natural 'wow' moments throughout its story. The music and sheer grandness of the landscapes often times had me sucked in and feel the adventure and excitement to discover this world. I was always very intrigued to read the various little lore pieces scattered everywhere, which rarely ever happens in any game I play.
While semi-open, it doesn't bring useless fetch quests or sidequests, which I very much enjoyed. Therefore you can focus on the main task at hand and actually feel like a lot has happened in your session. And it does offer itself to be played in several sessions as it's easy to pick up again.

But it isn't perfect by any means: The little puzzles you have to do to progress rarely got me invested and repeat their core objective too many times despite always putting a little twist on them. I want to forget the many times I had to wait for my bird to drop a heavy block on a pressure plate for a puzzle I had figured out 5 minutes ago.
Furthermore, the movement, while being very enjoyable throughout the first couple of hours, never feels like it has reached its full potential. Flaps slow you down too much, transitions from ground to air and vv. are a bit choppy and never contribute to 'the ideal way' to reach maximum speed to get where you want faster. The bosses also rarely profit from the very good core movement aside from their first phase - which is always the same.
This should not be a deterrend from keeping you to play this game. While relatively short, it is well worth your time and my criticism is more as feedback for the developer to hopefully improve on their mechanics and variety in a potential successor.

A very nice survival strategy game that comes very close to the movie experience and enhances it with well thought-out gameplay mechanics new to the genre and generally well written and directed cutscenes.
In mission, I'd say this is a very decent experience, although the 'base management' could have been elaborated on, as it does not nearly come close to the big inspiration that is XCOM: 2
All in all, it exceeded my expectations and has me yearning for more.

Stays true to the original and enhances it with better visuals, gameplay, more story elements and content.
To me, it is the best survival horror game I have played so far.

An excellent movement shooter featuring a gorgeous visual style, punchy weapons and unparallelled level design.
Also: get the double jump first...

You are entrapped within a small cabin somewhere you don't know, with a mysterious being whose haunting presence looms over you at every moment. Your one way out is to obey its rules and beat it at its own vicious game.
But beware: you are most certainly not going to make it.

Rarely if ever have I played a game that grips you by its atmosphere and tone just as Inscryption does: From the tight enclosure of the environment, ominous and throbbing sound effects, a ragged and stained artstyle to the frantic shivering animations... playing this game turns your room into an abandoned shack and holds you hostage until your life has run out.

Be it my most beloved aspect of this game, it far exceeds my expectations in almost every other regard.
The gameplay mechanics are well thought-out and intertwined, maniacal texts bring characters to life and the beautiful soothing soundtrack always steps into the forefront.
Analysing the board, taking your time to strategise two steps ahead and building a potent card deck is key to win but can be so easily neglected by the wake of your arrogance.

The only criticism I had with it was a rather low second stage but I can't express myself further without spoiling the plot. Just know that it is worth pushing through and finishing all of its chapters, additionally unlocking a very fun endgame.

If you can bare to fail a few times until you have learned this game's mechanics and systems or are not too easily discouraged by minor dependencies on luck for your playthrough, then you will find absolute joy attempting to master and abuse its systems for your sake and win the game.

In my eyes, this is a must-play for everyone and an icebreaker for who have thought not being interested in card-playing games.

Regardless of some rough edges here and there, this game exceeded my expectations with a breath of fresh air in regards to gameplay worldbuilding and art direction.

Guardians of the Galaxy honours the license and delivers one of the best experiences within its genre.
It is jampacked with fantastic visual design, reasonable dialogue, fun gameplay and even funnier moments that will make its roughly 15-20 hour-long campaign seem like twice as much time had passed. And on top of that, it is worth revisiting in its new game + mode to try out different choices to alter dialogue- and story paths.
It is a little rough around the edges and minor to major bugs are not a rarity, but if you can let that slide, I have no boubt you won't enjoy yourself.

To me, this is a reminder that there are still AAA-games being made with heart and soul and a very deep appreciation to the craft.

Sadly I cannot recommend Inside as it's troubled by terrible frame stutters and constant low fps rates at any settings even on the highest rigs.
As I've seen on the community hub, it is a recurring problem that started to appear since the game launched and still hasn't been recognized by the developers to do some proper fixing.

Even if this is just a low perentage of players this happens to, it is still unacceptable and renders their playtime unbearable.
Luckily you can simply refund the game.

One thing up front: I don't think this is a bad game. It does many things right in its gameplay department. It improves upon the XCOM formula in a refreshing way; it plays faster and much more fluid than its spiritual predecessor.

Why am I still giving it a negative review then?
It is time wasting. In its core, this is a 12-15 hour game but it decided to be stuffed with throw-away missions with repeating objectives and on recycled maps (I played the same mission on the same map three times).
And the only engaging factor in completing missions is to level up your characters way too slowly.
Why I think these missions exist? It's because the development team have to compensate for a 70€ pricetag one way or another, but what they failed to do is to implement engaging mechanics like XCOM did with research, building and improving inventory on top of Character development to give each level a reason why you should complete it.

And this is why I cannot recommend this game, even at a price drop: because you still have to go through pointless missions to progress in the campaign and get to the fun stuff.

I'm sorry if this sounds a bit harsh, but my time for gaming is limited and I prefer to spend it with more thorough and fun games than this.
