Hey Chris. It wouldn't let me send you the game. WHen I chose to pay for it it came up with this "Your purchase has not been completed.
The payment processor has reported an authorization failure. Please select a different payment method." I was able to get it for myself so not sure whats up. SUppose I'll try latyer but just wanted to let you know.

Often times I find myself wishing I could have an enjoyable RPG experience in a simpler format....I believe Dredmor is the answer to my predicament...
Now, if you don't know what a roguelike game is, I'll explain it; they're (typically) "hard" rpgs, sometimes with only text, sometimes with very basic graphics. The catch that makes them unique among RPGs is....permadeath. That's right; when you die, you're dead. That simple fact about roguelike games is what makes lovers of 'challenges' salivate. Is it hard? Eh...That depends on what skills you take, what difficulty you set it to, if permadeath is on...and if the 'no grind' mode is on. No grind mode is a mode where you get smaller floors while getting the same amount of experience. As for gameplay; the skills are all enjoyable and varied, and the dev team seems committed to keeping it updated, patched, and well supplied with content updates.

Hydrophobia's controls may be, at times, a tad clunky or whack (especially the camera controls) That's cool, even the PS1 games I truly loved had camera/control issues at time. As long as it's mostly still manageable and/or not a big problem, I don't mind as long as it's not often. And the graphics are relatively beautiful. The reason to get this game, however, lies in it's engine. Not the graphics engine, but the ENTIRE ENGINE built by them SIMPLY to create, affect, and manage realistic physics based reactions in regards to the effects of WATER. Well refined with room for improvement, this hydro engine has great untapped potential in a wide variety of genres and games. Imagine tomb raider puzzles with realistic reactions from the water? Imagine action or adventure games where the inherent act of the water hitting you in too large a supply can knock you off your feet, and not just because it's scripted. Imagine a RPG where you can DYNAMICALLY AFFECT THE NATURAL ELEMENTS AROUND YOU...

This is a decent side scroller, though not without it's faults. The voice acting is decent, though at times it seems a little stiff or forced/unnatural. It has a few stereotypes (bad Engrish asian stereotype, anyone?) of both real life and it seems to mock a few game cliches/stereotypes as well. The game is appealing to anyone who may be into animu, or if you're a weeaboo (Hell, if you're a weeaboo/animu fag deep down this may appeal to you). The difficulty, from what I've been told, is rather too easy throughout the game and truth be told, to me it seems that way although I'm not THAT far into it at the moment. The achievements are decent, and the graphics are nice. I'd give it a 3/5. Definitely worth a look if you're into side scrollers, cat girls, and cel-shaded games. Avoid if you hate side scrollers, cat girls, cel-shaded games, and a potential lack of challenge.
