Eric Bauman

Maine, United States

Once upon a time there was a spry young lad named Cody. He liked to play Super Mario with his friends down the street, watch TV, and play with Legos. He had many adventures at 14 Lillian Avenue, one time a dog bit his face. Not so long after his seventh birthday, his life got flipped-turned upside down and he moved to Maine, the asshole of America. Maine is cold, full of dumb rednecks with cars, and environmental fanatics. As a young gamer with not much to do, he consumed his time with Software USA game demos with his Pentium 386 processor. He also got to play on the Sony Playstation with some of his newfound friends.

Now Cody's parents happen to be artists, that means they use inferior computing devices. This wasn't all bad as some of the Software USA disks had Marathon demos. For those of you who don't know, the Marathon Trilogy is a series of excellent first person shooters made by what was at this point in his life the best known Mac game company ever, Bungie. That's right, the people who went on to create the Halo series. Anyway, Marathon was awesome, and sometimes some asshole would come over and play with him. They also played a lot of an awesome modification called Excalibur Morgana's Revenge.

Eventually Cody was exposed to the internet and due to a limited understanding of identity theft, would refuse to give out even his first name to people, instead giving his age as a make shift moniker. Cody watched a lot of gay animu like Dragonball Z and Zoids, as well as many hilarious Cartoon Network shows like Dexter's Lab and one of his favorites, Ed Edd and Eddy. At some unimportant time and location Cody received his own Playstation that he could play shitty games on, but mostly The Italian Job, The Legend of Dragoon, Final Fantasy 7, Tenchu, Final Fantasy: Tactics, and an ass-load of demo disks.

A major turning point in his life was his purchase of Half-Life: Platinum 2. This was the ultimate of game packs, it left Battlefield 1942 in the dust. It had everything, Opposing Force, Blue shift, Counter-Strike, Team Fortress Classic, and much more. At some point probably around this time Cody adopted the name Enigma49. He chose Enigma because of his original fear of identity theft, it kept his persona a mystery while still remaining cool, and 49 is just his favorite number, go figure. At this point in his life he was running everything on a surprisingly solid HP Pavilion 733MHz P3 based Celeron, 194MB of SDRAM, and a 128MB Radeon 9100se.

His friends all had cash, this was due in part to the fact that they were older and had means of making money not at Enigma49's disposal. They all had these really cool tricked out gaming rigs with all the bells and whistles. Then it happened, Half-Life 2 came out and all his friends got it. This was especially frustrating because most of these newfags had never even played Half-Life. It was hard being a gamer with no money, and the upgrade for Half-Life 2 took a long time (2 years after the release date), but when he finally got it, it was all he played. Of course he could only play it after making sure it saved his account info offline so he could play when he got home from his friend's internet. Fuck you Steam.

At some point he visited one of his friends and was shown a mod for Half-Life 2 in which you could build things, like this platform he had made that used GMen holding balloons to levitate. This mod, was Garry's Mod 6 or 7. The first thing he did at a friends house later was download Garry's Mod 8. It was awesome, although missing numerous features Garry's Mod usually had as this was the first in the 8.0 series. It had enough to create awesome vehicles and whatever else you wanted.

Then some other stuff happened. More will probably come soon.

Digital Aeon contains a number of things to keep one occupied in the midst of boredom. This includes news, downloads, a clan, a shoutbox, forums, and some other things.

We are also in the midst of creating a new, simple-to-use but powerful game developement program. It's current working title being the "Aeon Game Maker".

Digital Aeon hosts maps, mods, and other things. At the moment, most of the files available are sprites for RPG Maker and Warcraft III maps. There are, however, a few other things.

Also, this wasn't copypasta'd from the Digital Aeon Wiki, like seriously:

Site Features:

* A message board, with indicators to show who is online, custom-made smilies by Enigma49, sub-forums, an indicator as to who is viewing the current thread, and many other pleasant bells and whistles
* A shoutbox, with a detach feature for chatting in real time
* An image gallery
* Downloads
* Really stupid humor and home-brewed memes
* A "Personal Page" feature, allowing you to create a small webpage for yourself in your user profile
* Blogs
* Teh intarweebs
* A wiki (lulz)
* Rao Dao Zao
