In topic Multiplayer?
Actually, I left because I just didn't want to work for the company any more. Let's call a spade a spade. No need to spin it. :)

It's perhaps a tad unfair to blame marketing for the low playerbase given the game launched with no working multiplayer...there are limits to what marketing can do!

I'm sure if the game ever gets finished it'll be great, but you guys just need to sort out that multiplayer stuff. Bare minimum for a multilayer game really.

Awesome to hear you're thinking about making new maps now though. That's great news! Really glad Remasted won't just be cast aside. It's got so much potential and it'd be terrible to see The Ship's curse claim another victim.

Yes, there'll be other methods of connecting - this is just a step towards that.

In topic Listen Servers - General Feedback
We email everyone that signed up for closed testing when we release something to the test branch.

Some stuff can go directly to the main branch but anything that could potentially disrupt play needs to go through the test branch first (particularly testing networking, etc).
Yup, they're all coming. :) We love them too! :)
It'll likely be max 16, at least for the foreseeable future. If it does extend beyond that then it's likely that won't be for every map (the smaller maps can't really support more players).

We do understand what you're saying about having more bodies on a Ship to give it more life though. There's lots of implications of this as it more players / bots affects the technical performance of the game, and also impacts the game design (the kill loop wouldn't be able to sustain more players, there would be more grievers, etc). It's a big undertaking to look at more players / bots and not something within the scope of this project. Maybe something for future projects though as it's something we're keen on too. ;)

Pretty soon - Listen servers are in internal testing just now. There's a few bugs with it so it's not quite robust enough to roll out to public testing just yet, but should be the next few weeks.

In topic what the hell is this?
Hi Advendt,

The controls are all standard RTS controls - left click / left click drag to select your units. Right click to move or attack, and use the icons in the taskbar to activate abilities. Give this a shot and let me know how you get on.

In topic Questions
All yes, although on the doors topic we haven't decided on the approach yet. There's a discussion about it here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/383790/discussions/25/412446292777206835/

Bots are currently live, but there's ongoing tweaks and improvements to the AI.

Details of what's still to come can be found on our roadmap: http://www.blazinggriffin.com/games/the-ship-remasted/development-roadmap/

In topic Not able to play with friend?
Hi AnEveryDayZombie,

Hosted relay matches are currently region locked (Europe, US and Asia Pacific), so if you're in different regions, you won't see those games. However, we're working on alternative server support which should be available pretty soon and when that's live, you'll be able to play together.

Names such as shipmate1 are bots. Likely those servers are left running 24/7 but there will be players popping in and out from time to time.

The Ship is Alive group arrange matches from time to time: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/shipalive

And The Ship subreddit could be a good place to find human players: https://www.reddit.com/r/theship

You don't need to start the game - you can go directly via Steam > View > Servers. I've tried a couple of times and did see the server not responding box - but the game loaded straight away as normal.

It looks like having the game open is the problem - try it without starting the game up.
There are a few folks from Aus / NZ organising matches here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/383790/discussions/31/412446292777312392/

Is it a particular server that's not responding? I just tried to connect using that method and it worked OK.

Hi Miggo,

There was a similar question asked last week - I've put together a response in that topic: http://steamcommunity.com/app/383790/discussions/0/412448158149819285/

tl;dr - there are plans. :)
