Defcon is a great game that's simple, yet always satisfying. I always keep coming back to it and so do many others, even though it's cheap, simple, and years old.
I first want to say that the book by Glukhovsky is an amazing read, far better than the game.
But that's not to say that the game isn't amazing. It is. Stunning, beutiful graphics, great plot, amazing atmosphere, terrifying environments. Set in post-nuclear world, in the last of cvilization in the Moscow subways, where the very fabric of reality has been affected by the power of a nuclear war. Scares the shit right out of you. My only complaint is that it's very linear, and they neglected alot of good shit from the book.
Red Orchestra is a very challenging, but realistic game, based in WWII and involving Soviet and German armies going at it in large maps. While difficult to master at first, the game is one of my favorites. 5/5 stars.
