Visit XGen Gamers's profileWelcome to Hong Kong. You play as an undercover cop Wei Shen, in an effort to uncover the organized crime group known as the Triad. Sleeping Dogs can be thought of as the sequel to Just Cause 2. It has everything JC2 had plus more (except the lack of aircraft's which is totally appropriate). JC2 owners can even wear Rico's outfit in the game. From the interface to the actual gameplay, players will see and feel the resemblance. The open world island of Hong Kong, the ability to take a boat to the outskirts and discover small islands, and the vehicle and weapon systems. Although it is still strikingly different than JC2. Gameplay is mostly based on hand-to-hand combat which is different than most action games, and the ability to purchase and wear outfits along with owning an apartment. The main story mode lasts ~10-12 hours but there are many bonus missions and things to collect and unlock providing lots of additional game time. Altogether you'll find this game very entertaining. 10/10.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is set in the future year of 2027. The world has gone through some major technological inventions thanks to Sarif Industries and other technology companies. You play as Adam Jenson, an ex-cop in charge of security at Sarif Industries. When an attack on Sarif Industries occurs a group of scientists are kidnapped and Adam is severly injured forcing him to embrace the technology known as augmentation—equipping the body with technology mechanisms. Owner, David Sarif then sends Adam on a quest to uncover the meaning of the attack. Altogether the game is very well made and the story is great. The graphics are amazing and there are plenty of side quests that can keep you well past the 20 hours it takes to finish the main missions.
Who doesn't like the America gangster life of the 40's and 50's? Mafia II is set in a fictional American city called Empire Bay. You play as Vito Scaletta, a highly trained individual who, along with his family, has suffered a rough life in America after immigrating from Sicily. As Vito grows up, he meets his best friend Joe who introduces him to the crime world. Vito heads off to fight in the War but when he is wounded, he is sent home for a 2 month discharge of which Joe is able to get him out of the service. Joe and Vito are then able to turn the city upside down for a number of years as they complete various missions across the city. This is a open world game with a central storyline. There are no side missions but you progress on your own time. The city is full of dozens of cars, all of which you are able to steal and customize. The radio stations take you back to the music of the era with all original recordings. It's a well put together game and one you won't regret purchasing.
