SpaceSimCentral is a great place to learn about all the latest space/scifi based games and the classics.
Some people think that this genre of games are dead but I would have to disagree. With games like Heresy War, Naumachia: Space Warefare, Arc Nebula, Northstar, The Precursors, Combat Simulation System, Starpoint Gemini, Shattered Origins, X32i: Redeption, Salvation Prophecy, Evochron Mercenary, Jumpgate Evolution, Black Prophecy, Taikodom, Miner Wars and Infinity: Quest for Earth coming to soon the genre is actually looking quite healthy and that isn't counting the indie projects and mods :)
So have fun and talk about all these great games here in the SpaceSimCentral groups on steam and in the SpaceSimCentral.com forums.

If you like freelancer, you'll probably like this, however I will give fair warning that this does require a degree of patience, but after a short time exploring, mining, and learning some of the idiosyncrasies of the game, you like me, will be firmly hooked.... We dont own the place, but we have an understanding with the people that do :)
Happy to get together in multiplayer to help learn the ropes (I am in no way an expert yet)
good fun, especially since it is built on the ARMA2 engine. therefore helicopter controls are not totally unfamiliar
Left for dead rolled into role playing themes in paradise... do yourself a favour and get this game :)
