Surprisingly great game, action gameplay is some of the freshest and most interesting I've experienced for any game this year. You have a "gravity tether" that's equal parts hookshot, bungee line and gravity gun.

The single-player campaign, of building your own mercenary force & plotting how to use it, is one of the single most open-ended "RPG" experiences out there- does a pile of innovative little things to make the whole experience *work*. Multiplayer is a bit of an acquired taste, but in a good way. And yes, the combat's pretty kickass.

Left 4 Dead, with simpler shooting (top-down 3rd-person) and a more cerebral gear-based element (equipment that does a much wider variety of stuff, taking pages from TF2 and beyond).

An open-world shooter where the open world IS the GAME, rather than diversions and window dressing on the way to some scripted "content". The more you learn the details of how the game elements work, the more engaging it gets- hit me up if you get the game, I'll supply some tips.
