Magicka incorporates the best magic spell system I've ever seen in a commercial game into a clever and funny little universe that parodies lots of things, including itself. The controls feel good after the initial adjustment curve, and it's loads of FUN. Yes, that's the same type of FUN as the one commonly found in Dwarf Fortress - but with crazy awareness-deficient mages that can summon black holes instead of depressed egomaniacal dwarves.

A little game that doesn't look like much... until you actually play it and get sucked right into the lighthearted jewel that it is, and find yourself still haggling your way into paying the week's debt off and hack'n'slashing your way to new treasures - treasures that will of course be sold off immediately just so you can afford to buy the stock you'll be selling at a higher profit the next day.

Dungeon-exploring hack-and-slash goodness combined with shop-management and a good deal of challenge from places you wouldn't expect, all rolled in one very replayable package, make this one a must-get.
