Yes, the aesthetic is gorgeous, but that's really only going to hold one's interest for so long. What really sells this game is the atmosphere. It is at all times oppressive. However, there's always a dim light in the distance, far away, but reachable. That is what will keep you playing. You will try desperately to reach that light, and when you do you'll understand why I consider this one of the best games of the year.

Think Fallout 3, but far more oriented toward story and character development. The quests actually have a connection to one another instead of taking place in their own little universe.

I admit, the game shares an aesthetic that's very similar to Fallout 3 and some people can't get passed that. If you can though, you're in for a very fun ride.
