Whichever idea you pick, this game is the best W40K game to be released, even though it never once mentions that universe. You can load up on Strength and wade into melee with swords, you can boost Dex and take out your targets from afar, you can cloak, walk into the middle and detonate a bomb or blast them with mental energy, sneak up close and let loose with SMG's or Assault rifles. Or any combination of that. Cloak, walk into the middle of a group then use your two swords to eviscerate the enemy? Use a silenced sniper rifle to peg off damaging targets such as officers, pull out a silenced SMG and use that on the group which just walked around the corner.
The story is quite decent, the guns feel good, the controls are responsive. All indie games should be like this. Looks like Blade Runner, plays like Dystopia. Get it, play it, enjoy.
Imagine your average FPS where you're coming out of a building and see a railing at waist height and two people coming towards you. You have to move to the right to get around that railing and if you crouch your rifle will be at the railing height and thus won't hit the approaching enemies. So you move back into the building.
In Brink, you run towards the railing, drop down and slide underneath it, and empty your SMG into the enemy on the left. Coming to your feet and switching to your assault rifle you put three shots into the person on the right, then sprint forwards, leap towards a pipe attached to a shipping container and climb to the top. You run to the edge, jump down the two stories, hit the ground rolling and start again.
Fluid. Fast. If you took Assassins Creed and CoD then threw them into a jar and shook till it had fully merged. If you have ever cursed at your controls, if you have ever stopped playing because you can do it better, play Brink.
If you took the battles from Total War, the heroes from Warcraft 3, story from Arthurian legends, quests from those old text based rpg's back in the day, and a splash of kingdom management with a bit of story telling through scripted events. Entertaining, and the ai isn't too shabby.
