Consider again that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar", every "supreme leader", every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there - on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.

This game plesantly surprised me. I thought it would be one of my least-favorites from the Indie Royale bundle, but it ended up one of my favorite indie games of the year. The universe is engaging, the art and music are very well done, and the story is quite good. It's not perfect though, the control scheme isn't that great, and can be frustrating during certain parts of the game, the small amount of combat is lacking, and the voice acting is average at best. Gemini Rue is worth a playthrough. Pick it up during a Steam sale, or try the demo on the developer's website.
While short, Bastion is easily Game of the Year material. I picked it up during the Steam sale at half off, and I almost feel bad I didn't pay full price, and I'm definitely kicking myself over not getting the soundtrack. The art is beautiful, the music is memorable, the narrative is wonderful, and the gameplay is incredibly fun. Buy it. Please.
A great stealth ARPG from Obsidian. Three mission hubs to go through after the starting mission, a decent story, interesting (and ridiculoulsy crazy) characters, has one of the best boss fight stages and music ever, and more. The game is definitely buggy, stealth+pistols make the game super-easy-mode, but it does a LOT of stuff right and is a good enough game to warrant a playthrough. Pick it up next time it's on sale, it's incredibly cheap during them.
