I've been waiting years for a Kart racer this good. Takes me back to the old rush I got from games like Diddy Kong Racing and Mario Kart Double Dash. Fantastic level design, solid weapon choices, great cast, and fantastic visuals/sound. The mix of land/sea/air is done very well and the changeup on track keeps the racing interesting. So many nice touches too, from bigger things, like the inclusion to split-screen in almost every mode (and there are a ton of modes), to smaller stuff, like the amusing dialogue when adjusting the announcer volume.

Clearly a labor of love by Sumo, and a very easy recommend to anyone that has ever enjoyed Kart racing.

No multiplayer is a big con. UI is pretty stark, and some basic PC only options that should be there aren't. Had to edit config files just to adjust resolution. Game plays well enough though. If you're a big enough fan of the original games and you don't mind playing solo, there are worse ways to waste your money.

It delivers on that classic Sonic feel we all love, while still including worthwhile new gen improvements.
