Yeah, so Batman has a island vacation where he gets to beat on pretty much everyone with impunity. So, really, its just another day for him, but for you the player, you finally get to play with ... I mean find collectables and unlock gear and then go find more collectables while you RPG Batman, who apparently forgot how to be awesome or something until you unlock that too. Despite not being allowed to cheat from the start with Bat-tool this and Bat-gear that, its still fun. So really, probably the best Batman game ever, at least till Arkham City comes out where you unlock his awesome all over again in a slightly bigger island, I mean "city". You know, Batman/Bruce Wayne has the means to trigger politcal reform, get right at the root conditions that give rise to crime and systemic poverty ... and instead he puts them in the hospital, which the debt from will likely drive them to further acts of desperation as society fails them because they weren't born rich like someone... :P
Short. Short on maps, short on map making tools, short on mods, short campaign (5 missions), short on other players for multiplayer. I got this on sale for $5, got just over two hours out of it, and satisfied that Risk monkey on my back. The additions to the basic Risk game were welcome and fun, the art style was enjoyable but quickly became repetative. I would like it if I could find a way to mod this with other Risk boardgame variants, like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Godstorm, and 2210 AD - or just to add a few more damn maps using the Factions variant present in this game.
A delectible blend of pure adrenaline and insanity in first person, beneath its deceptively simple looking graphics lies a game that will both stress you the fuck out and relax you, depending on what kind of gaming experience you are looking for at the moment. There is a level that will let you meditate peacefully, one of the best things to ever be added to a challenging high score game, who does that? These Indy Devs, that's who. Come on, try the demo at least, you know you want to.
