Early Access Review
It's been in development for years and never updates. Buggy as hell, crashes constantly, and pretty much a level editor at this point. I'm sure it will be great in 2025 when it releases, but for now you'd best stay away.

The latest devblog stated that the engine is far enough along to begine the campaign. so keep an eye out.

The reason I'm not recommending it is because of the slowness of the development, not because it's early access. If your ok with dealing with very slow development times then by all means buy it. However, for me I don't like it because of this and am just putting my opinion out there. The reason for the slow development time is absolutely irrelevent as far as I'm concerned (and I imagine this is the case for many people), the only thing that matters is that the game is coming along very slowly and I'm letting people know.

If this were a unity game it would have been done by now but been buggy and limited... they are building a game engine from the ground... very few developers are even capable of that. The story portion of the game will take very little time to make... the game engine is powerful and very easy to create with. The developers releasedit to early access, BECAUSE it is not finished... that is what early access is for.

Perhaps they should re-think how they're handling Early Access then.

- Perhaps write more than two paragraphs in the Early Access disclaimer
- Perhaps consider doing more with the game more often (as in don't confine work on the game to "a weekend thing," if there’s truth to that)
- Perhaps offer a discount for those who invest in the Early Access and then have a pre-order/modest discount at release when(/if) it's finally done
(the value of which should respect those who did invest in the Early Access)
(you know, like most Early Access games do).

"In its current state, it is more like a sandbox of technology and martial arts..."
Can't really stretch that into more paragraphs, but I think it'd be good to at least address the questions that the standard Early Access disclaimer does.
Would also be good if, for $30, the game had more to it than a (“)unique(“) fighting system and level editor (just my audacious opinion). Because. Yeah. $30 is a (somewhat) hefty investment in something that is not (legally) obligated to change (How HAS the game grown since 2008?).
If the dev’s interest in the game is only as a hobby, how much trust can they expect/do they deserve from us (just my simple (unintentionally loaded) question)?

I have been watching (read "wanting") this game for some time - only check it in passing every now and then; really know nothing about it but felt compelled to comment (pblllt).

If money is a constraint for them, it's their fault for not coming up with a better solution than "Meh, offer the game at pre-order cost while in Early Access – simple solution, done." Might not get too many more buyers with the negativity circulating the game (i.e. “no progress”)... Other dev’s offer a discount for those who invest early and then raise the price after release (and, considering what this game is (and apparently has been all along) … ) So.
Then again, if it is just a shortage of spare time, they've the right to charge whatever they want and not give a darn if they're comfortable with the progress they’re making (not that they wouldn't anyway, just saying – apply sense and be mindful of your customers)(several people DON'T seem happy with the progress).

Do you understand that it is $30 for the final game. If they charged only $5 now, then everyone would get the final game for $5. This is merely a pre-order and you are allowed to play it before it comes out. If this was a AAA game such as Assassin's Creed, you would say the same. In Assassin's Creed's case, they decide not to release the game to the public until it is officially done. This is hard for indie's because they don't get payed a salary while developing their game like they would if they worked at Naughty Dog or Bethesda.
