On a sidenote, thanks for the birthday wish!

After Shepard's choice there's not even one line of dialogue that throws us a bone and straight up lets us know what's going down. Joker says nothing, he's not even screaming commands at an alive EDI or yelling hysterically over a dead EDI. Literally, the last voice you hear in the game is the voice of the Catalyst telling Shepard what his/her choices are. No one is asking questions in any proceeding cutscene, or crying, or screaming--how does the Normandy crew even know the Reaper threat was taken care of? OH WAIT they don't because apparently they fled the Sol system before the relays were obliterated which meant leaving Shepard and the victory fleet to die on Earth THANK YOU BIOWARE. FUCK.

I'm with you in the bitterness for eternity unless I see some miracles. I've been thinking it through since I finished the game about 2 weeks ago and I agree that a "clarification" is as pointless as much as it is unnecessary. The ending simply needs to be changed, period. You cannot just put band-aid on a skull fracture. In a game that's all about providing details, why, in the last moments of what is supposed to be the epic conclusion to a widely lauded series, are there none?

Yeah, to say the ending was extremely disappointing is the biggest understatement I could make. It's obvious this game was not complete, or horrifyingly enough, Bioware's "artistic" intention really was to introduce, "explain," and have the player resolve a new, incohesive plot goal within the final 5 minutes of the game in only 14 lines of one-sided dialogue. Then explosions. It's unfortunate that the opportunity to properly end this series was squandered so entirely. No epilogue. No acknowledgment of previous goals, closure with characters and remaining races, or resulting consequences of your final choice. Some half thought out scene with Shepard (or whoever that could be) taking a breath is absolutely asinine. I love this series, but holy hell there's no love for the one ending we were essentially given.

I hate Vampires, the idea of one, and the fanbase, however this is still an amazing game, and is still one of the best rpgs ever made. Characters are well fleshed out, there are real path choices to make (stealth ninja, master hacker, dictonary of words, commando) to almost every mission, mutiple endings that feel right on the choices you make.

This game does what it's suppose to, and does it well. You can easily replay this game as a new race/gender/skill set and feel the difference. My only real complaint is that combat is funcky for the first half of the game, you can avoid it for the most part however certain boss fights will be forced, and hard early on.

Also remember to get the unoffical patch, as of march 2012, it was on 7.9, I did the plus pack and loved it, there are also a lot of good mods out there, however a lot of the popular ones conflict.

and of course...

don't open it.

You can get the Orginal for free, which is the same game with slightly less features. It;s a great game, and this adds some nice features none of which effects the main game. Just updated music/graphics, hardcore/easy mode, and playing the game as Curley.

Good Co-op game, however be aware that you can't level select through the main story line, and that they release a ton of throw away DLC to con you out of money.
