No where near as good as the second. Man oh man is this a meh game, so many plot holes, unbelievable voice acting lacking emotion, horribly clunky combat. I only played to get the story so as to better understand the second and i didn't want to read the books. You can do without it for The Witcher 2, but i am glad i get alot more of the references and the story behind TW2 which can only be attributed to this underwhelming experience that is The Witcher 1. Buy at your own digression, but MUST BUY The Witcher 2!
Ok so now its free; trust me, you need this game.
A bit horror, apocalyptic shooter, and visual feast! Love the game as it keeps me constantly entertained and stays challenging.
