Community: Very friendly, people construct towns together with complete strangers and form bonds just like in real life.
Gameplay: Dated, but very solid and compelling, deep. Turn-based combat mixed with realtime movement
Visuals: While not as highly detailed as newer games on the market, Wurm's forests and mountains feel very real and get many things right that other games never will.

Excellent game for those who desire a greater sense of depth, adventure, and progression from their survival sandbox type experience. Wurm Online (Unlimited is basically a player-hosted version of WO) is a very old game, and you will not find a game that plays quite like wurm to date... a very specific niche in gamefeel that makes this a hard game to recommend without one first trying out Wurm Online for free. Creation in wurm arises from necessity, players construct the very crucial highways and sideroads that span across the world, everything seems to have a purpose. This is because everything that isn't natural landscape is player-made, giving every server and every world on the server a very real, breathing sense of life and wonder. For those who admire an abundant amount of roles to fill and an elegant (if hard to get used to at first) style of crafting, where things can be constructed based on what makes physical sense and not just what the developers want you to put together, Wurm is possibly the perfect game.

Bottom Line: It's great for the people that find joy in living peacefully instead of constant looting and pillaging (although there are places for that in wurm), it's great for people who enjoy turn-based games like classic roguelikes who want a compelling multiplayer experience that is a bit more up their alley. Wurm is a great game for many people but it is certainly a very unique experience, which is not very easy to break into without a bit of effort.
