I never thought i would say this: its better than homm 3, and it is all i ever wanted since then. Its been 10+ years since i've been so happy about a purchase from a non-indie studio. its actually a good base game, something you cant say about a lot of games that relies on exspansion packs in this age. I am a very happy customer. UI is my only complaint, but it is not ruining my experience.

Im so sad that this game seems to been have left shortly after it came out. I was one of the few that really liked the idea of a democratic city builder game, instead of the the many dictatorship games out there. I do like this game, but it should deepen the gameplay with updates, and that dosent seem to happend. Its a ok game, but i think you should be somehow into politics to enjoy it. I can only recommend this game if its on sale, for that kind of money i had hope it would have been updated.

Ive been in love with banished for long and still am. but theres a lot of unexplored potentiel with the production chain for example. I was looking forward to play this game, and it has been at my wishlist for a very long time. It had a longer production chain and the oh so romantic graphics. And i just love citybuilding, survival, simulation and management games so i thought this would be a perfect match. But the game has triggered me in so many other ways. I really never get into this game as it bores or annoys me too much.

1, A 3 year old is not a teenager, you might not want to call it a child in your game, because you chose to call your babies children. but a 3 year old can never be a teenager. teenager is by definition someone between 13-19. This annoys the **** out of me.

2. I dont need to know that it is a "teenager" that is ready for school, and if its an adult ill take them aswell. This is not the only weird and pointless info i get. It all seems pointless or halfhearted. the info stream overflows with direct ♥♥♥♥♥♥ info and upon that badly contructed sentences.

3. This is the biggest deal breaker fo me. In other games i love to follow my citizens, see how their lives play out. In this game females magically gets pregnant, and males too, you dont know whos the brother or the mother. it could be the 3 year old teenager or the 34 year old man.
In banished i follow this uneducated girl that lost her parents when she was 5 due to starvation and married a 55 year old man when she was 13 and had 2 children, Demon and Annabelle, which both got educated. her man dies and she married an 21 old guy. I like that. I dont want this girl or her family members to get hurt, and when her children gets educated theres no better reward than that. In this game i dont give a ♥♥♥♥ about any of my people bevause i dont have that feeling and connection with them. If they die who cares, someone will just replace them.

3. I never get punished for a bad choice. I think of myself as a timeconsuming but yet casual gamer. This is way to easy. Ive only had 2 starvations, one due to stupidity of my sim and one homeless guy that no one apparently offered any food.

4. The tree growth is insane is this game. Whatever fertilizer this is, it should be illegal. it seems like a forest grows in a season. Too much tree in my stock, and im still no further into the island. the city building aspect really get lost in the forest.

5. animals magically appears and do not reproduce but like the sims, offspring magically appears. i normally love fantasy games but at least get a priest to shout some holy words or something.

6. i thought the first person view was a fun idea.. exploring your great city from your sims point of view i imagined.. but.. well firstly the tutorial never introduced me to it. And theres no way telling what the interactions does before you execute them. I really hope im blind in this matter. But also: if i wanted to shoot deers and wolfs i can come up with plenty of better games to do that. Then i can play an intrument. what a waste of my time. Something that i would have loved to see my sims do in god view, giving some of the connection to them that i am missing. But in first person view this is stupid. it could only be fun in an mmo. When people are talking about wasting their lives theyre talking about that action in this game. imagine the poor guys that developed this interaction.
Wandering around town is also boring as everyone is always working never having spare time to play the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ instrument themselves.

If you want a great survival citybuilder simulation id tell you to look to banished instead if you can handle the indiestyle.
