OTHER
Offensive language is frowned upon in this group, and posts or members may be removed.
This includes hardcore swearing, racism, sexism, homophobia, and any other stupidism.
RUNNERS
People in this group are called Runners for short. Game events are usually divided into Northern Runners, for those in the Northern Hemisphere, and Southern Runners, for those in the Southern Hemisphere.
You can attend any event you would like to, even if it is in a different hemisphere. The reason why events are usually run in two parts is to attempt to get people of roughly the same Ping playing together.
SPRINTERS
We have some Sprinters in this group. These are people who have gone the extra mile and put a lot of energy into organising group events or competitions.
The following people have had the title of Sprinter conferred on them, and can wear a <=SB= tag if they want to.

Dead Island was first touted as being similar to Left 4 Dead. It is not.
Rather, it is more like a cross between Borderlands, with its levelling up, skill trees and classes of weapons, and Fallout New Vegas, with its fetch quests and graphics.
The game can be clunky in many aspects. Slow down in menus is noticable, the AI is just plain stupid, hands don't always connect with ladder rungs and the voice acting is atrocious - Australians don't sound the same as people who speak cockney.
There are also very strange cut scenes where it is assumed that you realise you are travelling with a group of people.
However, despite all this, the game does have an interesting story. A lot of the main quests are quite interesting to complete. There are memorable characters you meet along the way and it is fun to slowly level yourself up.
You can also find weapon blue prints and craft new weapons. It is so much fun to find out what impact a new weapon will have on a bunch of zombies.
A bit of fun.
Limbo is a game that combines puzzle and platforming elements brilliantly.
Its art style is uniquely limited in palette, but overflowing with atmosphere. This helps to make the game feel both distinct and eerie.
You will only learn the premise of this game from reading the one sentence description that accompanies it on the Steam Store. That one sentence is enough to set the tone.
As with any good puzzler, some of the problems seem insurmontable at first, but become painfully obvious after some pondering.
After playing the game for a couple of hours I have only been stuck a few times, but not for long. The balance of the puzzles is amazing.
There is some horror and a few jumpy moments in the game. They are handled so well that you don't really need a strong constitution to withstand them.
Go and grab yourself this indie classic and experience a world of shadows and bleak hope.
Killing Floor really takes a lot of getting used to, at first. You have slow waves of "specimens" (zombies) coming at you, unlike Left 4 Dead where you need to worry about speed.
One tactic for taking them down is to get in a space where they can only approach you from two directions, and repeatedly clear in front and behind yourself.
When you get down to the last couple of specimens in a wave you then need to make sure you are near where you can buy weapons, ammo and armour, or the time to resupply runs out.
A lot of headshotting really helps in this game, as it incapacitates specimens and takes them down faster.
The graphics aren't smooth and the script is really stupid. The gameplay, however, is awesome fun once you get the hang of it.
The final wave in each round is a boss who is extremely difficult to kill. You've gotta have a good plan to finish him off.
You level up in the game, so it seems much harder at first than it ends up being.
I strongly recommend it.
