Quick Rule Breakdown:
The goal of mahjong is to make a hand consisting of 4 sets (triplets called pons or sequences called chiis) and one pair. There are two exceptions to this rule: Seven pairs and 13 orphans.
However, in order to claim a win a player needs at least one yaku (multiplier). See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_Mahjong_yaku for a list of yaku.

And it's not completely shitty which considering I loathe solitaire in all forms is very high praise indeed.
If you don't hate things that are over the top, this is the game for you.
I just jump kicked through the windshield of a cargo plane in flight, took a joyride with a tiger, had a cart chase shootout being pulled by gimps, reduced the largest skyscraper in the city to rubble and I'm only at the start of chapter 2.
