I play games and stuff. Killing Floor and Battlefield 3 are my current top games, though both require me to be playing with the same general group of people to have any fun in them anymore. Otherwise they're boring in KF's case and frustrating as fuck in BF3's.
I also have an interest in some of that Japanese stuff. Stuff like anime, manga and Vocaloid. That last one should be pretty obvious if you recognise the avatar at all.
I'm drawn on this one. On the one hand, it's a SPACE NOIR video game. Noir of any variety is usually worth a look, and in this case, the atmosphere and story are pretty good from what I've experienced. On the other hand, the interface is clunky as fuck and it has combat. IN AN ADVENTURE GAME.
Buy it if you're a fan of point and click adventure games and can deal with the sort of godawful interface of 90's adventure games. If not, avoid this like the plague.
Recommendation currently under review after playing a bit of multiplayer and discovering you can get rid of the stupid bloody random dinos that show up.
Still hard to recommend in its current form, but it has a lot of potential to be an awesome game. Just needs some bug fixes, a few more enemies and levels and a bit of rebalancing. Seriously, fuck the flying ones and their absurd amount of hp.
The Good: One of the most entertaining co-op games ever created. The sheer amount of fun that can be had with even just one mate in this game is completely and utterly ridiculous and you're bound to be grinning the whole time. Enemies explose in a hail of flashy magic nastiness and "accidental" team killings run rampant, all in the name of hilariously good fun.
The Bad: The DLC adds some good stuff, but all up costs more than what the base game does. Compared to something like Fallout 3 & New Vegas, where the DLC added tons of extras and enhanced the game experience quite a lot, Magicka's extra content doesn't quite stack up. The solo mode is also a little lackluster compared to the co-op.
The Final Word: If you have a mate or three, you owe it to yourself as a lover of fun to get this game. It is worth -AT LEAST- $2 more than the asking price.
