In short, we want to be the best. In application, we just want to beat hardmode or higher on videogames. Unfortuneately this usually requires teamwork. And just in case you haven't noticed, Teamwork is hard to find in random matches. So what we do is scour the internet looking for decent people, and introduce them to each other.

Do You remember Zelda on the SNES? "Link to the past" as it were? Of course you do, and if you don't then you shoul go play it RIGHT NOW.
Oh yeah, the point: Spiral Knights handles sort of like that, except in MMO form. Getting top tier equipment will take time, or you could just play it to amuse yourself for a couple hours. Either way its worth the price of free easily. And this comes from a guy who doesn't like MMO's.
