The most memorable game of 2011.

This is truly a 'non-stop action' game. Both campaigns are fun and unique. The pacing between vehicle, on-foot and boss combat is excellent. The multiplayer is surprisingly strong: customization and unlock progression seem deep. Very few people in matchmaking, unfortunately.

I never expected a budget 2D title to provide such an epic sense of adventure. Survival and fame are your only tasks, and you're given complete freedom over their execution. Alternating between resource-gathering, dungeon-spelunking, and castle-building provides comfortable pacing. The sheer size of a "Medium" map is mindboggling; there are caverns, crypts, dungeons, deserts and jungles to explore. Building a home-base is a very rewarding experience, too.
