Surfing 24/7

This group is dedicated towards the gamestyle surfing.

Surfing originates way back to the old Counter Strike games, and all the way up to both CS:S and TF2. The reason to why this has been possible is because the Source Engine's physics has stayed almost entirely the same over the years. Due to this and the fact that this special convar (Configuration Variable) has always remained in the engine has made surfing both a popular and fun gamemode.

Now, the special convar that was mentioned requires a special approach if you ever wanted to surf locally or start your own server.
* In CSS the only thing necessary is to either in the server console or client console type: "sv_airaccelerate 150".
* In TF2 however you will need to install an addon capable of changing hidden convars, like SourceMod (which requires MetaMod:Source) and then you just do "sm_cvar sv_airaccelerate 150" using the same procedure as CSS. (Bear in mind that if you were to install an addon locally you'd need to run your game in -insecure mode)

Both of these commands will change the convar to 150 which is what's considered to be a default initial value for surfing. It's also generally accepted among those who surf for competition. The value can be raised to ease the surfing. The changes will be noticed if you were to change direction in mid-air faster than normal or at high velocities.
