Don't waste the time and gigs to download this because most likely your computer can't run this. It's PlanetBeta 2; rushed from beta. It's also pay-to-win because despite the large numbers of people on the forums saying the same things from beta, to released, to today, about weapon balances, and control options, they have yet to do anything about them because they don't give a shit. They even said it themselves that the game was racking in WAY more money than they anticipated even for an mmo with a large playerbase, and have only been focused on putting more buyable stuff in rather fixing the MANY game bugs not yet sorted out, and gamebreaking ones such as balance have yet to be addressed because all the op weapons, unless someone plays the game 24/7 in saving up for that one op weaon, have been bought since day one of release, and the devs have the attitude of 'have a problem, buy your own'. Admins don't do shit towards hackers either. People will be flying around the map, walking on air 'no clipping' and servers will give them multiple warnings, but see 4 hours later they're still there. Same with patrolling griefers on destroying friendly aircraft at spawn. Nope. Admins are all talk and no action. Wait a year until they get their shit together, as well as better optimized, to play this.
In all the battles they show in the video, they're all one v ones with a couple two v ones shown so I thought it was going to be mainly such, but because these pretty small areas have around 20 people (10 on 10) it's just EVERYONE grouped up together in a big mosh pit, spamming all their abilities until someone gets a kill.
"Forge features only the best aspects of MMO and FPS class based combat": There's no option to have first person view ('multiplayer skyrim' would make this game so much better imo), and comparing it to an MMO is another false comparison, unless there's an MMO with tons of pvp players doing as described in first paragraph.
For 20 dollars (of which I regretfully paid, during the buy one get one free) this game is nowhere near worth that alone, for content, or gameplay. If you really want this game despite my review wait until it goes to 5 dollars during the december holiday sales (if they're going to do it) to where it might go 75% off because that's what this game is worth; nowhere near 20 dollars worth. Especially for price, just stick to some free to play mmo like "Everquest 2" and just play pvp, with those games also having much content to enjoy on the side when you don't feel like pvping with the nice price of "FREE".
Pairing what the Forge's page says about it's game, with an unbelievably appalling price of $20 for such little content: It's in no way RPG in the sense of looting, wearing gear, unlocking abilities, leveling up, or ANYTHING it's own description describes except 'choose from one of these five classes and run around in small maps, in this mosh pit of people, spamming abilities until we actually finish the game' because looking at the "Key Features" in store page, it seems as though they have big plans for this game all of which is NOT here, and rather wait until it's finished, pushed it out once greenlit to make money off of it, charging an amount of money nowhere in relation to where the game is currently, but what they expect it to be later on with more updates. None of the "Key Features" from store page are there and to also add "No Subscription Fee and No "Pay to Win"" is just ludicrous because it's not a free to play, you're paying an outrageous 20 dollars for very little content, and that makes me believe they intend to have micro transactions later on or something? They're charging for what's not (yet) there, and I was one to be supportive of Greenlight, with another game "Towns" being on my wishlist as the same reason of "Forge", is i thumbed it up on Greenlight when it was there because i thought it was a good looking 'game-to-be', and "Would you buy this if were on steam" thumbed it up because I thought that "Would you buy this...", implied "When it's finished, and complete, everything intended to be there, there; released on steam" but NO, that's not what it is at all.
This video of another game that looked good from store page presentation and description, enough that it went on my wishlist (not yet a buy) is another example, but after seeing this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtKAm3nzg6I showing the truth behind Steam and Greenlight of which i didn't know, (also covering (now removed from wishlist) "Towns" is why i mentioned earlier) shows me that despite already having an attitude of "watch Gameplay and Review videos before at all considering purchase" was just for retail games trying to trick you into buying, but after such games from greenlight showing if greenlit they don't even have to be finished, as well as any game on steam doesn't have to; no more. NEVER until seeing extensive gameplay and review videos have i ever supported full retail games, but now because of this, and other unfinished but still charged for indies, will I ever support an indie's Greenlit product either; both in purchasing, and especially thumbing: holding such green gesture sacred much more so than before, until they show me everything that they tell us is there.
I don't imagine you're checking this game out unless there's a sale I'm missing, but if this interests you... DON'T pay attention to this false advertising. Same as the videos of when the game first came out, different build than the actual product. As of right now until I review the (supposed to be upcoming) "Title Update 002" don't bother with this game as it's currently FAR broken not even worth a dollar; it's so unplayable and unoptimized despite the (only 2) maps being smaller than the default garry's mod map. I ran the gigantic behemoth maps they had before fine, but these tiny maps are performance killing like no other. Seeing this game reminded me to write this. Until I re-review for it's Title Update 2, don't bother purchasing for any amount as I have three copies to gift away because I had gotten the four pack upon release, so hit me up if you want it after such review.
