Visit Dustforce Double S+ Community's profileDustforce is a precision platformer that demands excellence, yet I would recommend it to other platformer newbies as the game moulds you into an expert by the end. You must (put simply) traverse a level without missing anything and without losing your combo to achieve a perfect "SS" score so you can attempt a harder level. I thought I hated games like this and admittedly I bought this for the amazing soundtrack before I even knew the game's genre, but I stayed for the amazing art style, great level design and fluid controls (try w/ controller!). The leaderboard is a great feature and it's interesting to watch other players' runs and see how your run compares. I was dumbfounded but proud that I managed to actually get a world record #5 on a level (probably lower by now). I've never felt so much utter joy from overcoming a challenge (Hideout and Giga are monsters and I spent 15+ hours on each) since Dark Souls and for that I love you Hitbox. I'm very excited for the level editor!!
This is probably one of the most fun games I have played, and by the end of it I was left wishing all games were as fun. Saints Row: The Third does not take itself seriously, focuses on the right elements and it benefits greatly from the direction it took. Occasional pathing glitches become irrelevant in comparison to the game's big open city of Steelport full of many different things to do, amazing character customization & cutscene integration, funny and epic story & characters, awesome gameplay & character development and great use of licensed music (I was pleasantly surprised to hear Grum's "Heartbeats" in the game). SR3 is kind of like a mix of Grand Theft Auto and Infamous except fun. There is nothing but pure enjoyment to experience from SR3 and I felt reminded to why I love video games.
