"Alright, I've been thinking... When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade, MAKE LIFE TAKE THE LEMONS BACK! GET MAD! I DON'T WANT YOUR DAMN LEMONS WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THESE?"
Well, you make combustible lemons, like Cave Johnson did. Combustible lemons THAT BURN YOUR HOUSE DOWN!
Anyway, GLaDOS is back, and she's not alone this time. Tricky but not too difficult, epic but not drawn out, Portal 2 is one of the best games I've ever played. Not exactly something easy for me to say, I've played some good ones like Team Fortress 2, Metal Drift and Trackmania 2, but this one takes the cake (which in this case isn't a lie).
Dispite how good the game looks, you don't need the most powerful computer ever to play it - It's quite optimised. The framerate is smooth and it never lagged, despite having everything turned up to 11.
Overall, this game doesn't live up to its hype, it exceedes it.
If you don't have it, I can only say this: why the heck do you not?
This game is probably not for you. It is a bullet hell game by definition and by design, and there's a reason why there are very few released outside of Japan. That said, Jamestown is extremely fun and quite a challenge.
Jamestown: Legend of the Lost Colony is in the same subgenre of vertical shooters as the Touhou Project, Batsugun, DonPachi and XOP. It's not exactly as dificult as the Touhou project, but it's still a real challenge and on higher dificulty levels it becomes Contra-Difficult.
Jamestown is set in a Sci-Fi 1619 colonial Mars (the real Jamestown colony was in America) and tells an alternate reality version of actual historical events. The game has 16-Bit retro style graphics similar to arcade shooters of the mid 90's (in fact, this game plays exactly like one), and the five levels are reletivally short - if you're a Touhou project veteran then you'll breeze through this game in a single session on all dificulty levels... I just got this game, so a recomendation now is quite rare for me.
All I can say is that I finally found my "Perfect Game". I was looking for a game like this, with racing, shooting, and even good old Sega Genesis "Speedball" style sports combined. If you have played F-Zero, Speedball or any FPS, this is a definate must have.
