I didn't know what I was getting into when I bought this game on sale. The first time I saw this game, I was horrified, but as I tunneled through each level of Isaac's journey to his mother, I was even more repulsed and trembling. The art direction clearly is a swan song for those who have played Super Meat Boy and the gameplay is just as immersive and easy. But if anything was perfectly translated from SMB, it would be the difficulty. Every adventure is different and new characters, upgrades, and enemies lurk around every corner. This is definitely one of the most replayable games I've ever played. I've already sunk near 100 hours. If you're looking for something new to satiate your gaming hunger, check this game out.
Satisfying length for an indie title. Quirky dialogue synonymous with Psychonauts. Accessible graphics for any age with enough depth to keep more advanced players playing. Double Fine goes for another run in this hilarious adventure. And did I mention that monsters explode into candy?
Terrifying Atmosphere? Check. Rejuvenated phobia of arachnids? Check. Cruel puzzles that decide whether you get to turn into Kraft Dinner or live to see another one? Checkity check. Limbo is a horror story for the generation.
