A breath of fresh air in a generation where shooters no longer have teamplay aspects.... this one does. For most current gamers, that means they'll hate it. For anyone that played older shooters, Team Fortress... (and I don't mean 2 or classic, I'm talking the original quake version) Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, you're in for a treat.
(The graphics are really pretty on top of that.)
Well this seems relatively cool, lush...brown african environment lots of brown....and brown... good god brown and bloom! Alright, so I'm.... goddamnit I have malaria, this blows. Alright, so I have a gun now and holy crap everyone is shooting at me! Malaria fit!
Far Cry 2 in a nutshell, good fun for $5 though.
Great game if you like tactical shooters, not perfect and had a slightly spotty launch.... but it's playable. I know plenty of people who had problems with COD Black Ops.... Bad Company 2... a lot of high profile games on launch. This doesn't make it an awful game, especially when a launch like this was pulled off by such a small team. The destruction is exactly what was promised though it was hyped a bit, most people seem to be disappointed over that aspect, expecting everything to explode into bits but if you don't hang up on it too much there's a gem to be enjoyed.
Finally a tactical shooter that's easy to jump into with an active community, I've been waiting for something like this since Rainbow Sx 3: Raven Shield died off. Also, at the time of this writing, standalone dedicated server software is available. Atomic games is listening very closely to the community and working quickly. If you're tired of hollywood run and gun shooters, pick this up. It's a no brainer for the money
