Conflict Online is a 2d shooter set in space. It is from the top down perspective and impliments a tile based system that is capable of enless space and terrain. It is a huge work in progress and is in very early stages of alpha.
The original version of conflict was created in 2007 by a team of two high school students. Yifu Huang, the programmer, and Steve Van Bellingen, the designer. It was an instant local hit, attracting people with its instant playability and simple yet intricate design. It even won 1st place in computer science at the NH Science and Engineering Expo.
Though being ressurected right now, after graduation in 2007, the project began to slow down and die. Going to college and loss of data were major contributors. Instead of continuing conflict, the programmer Yifu decided to work on a differnt project instead called Collaz, a trend based community sort of like facebook(www.collaz.com). The game came to a halt. This recent year however, we decided to pick it back up and finally make it online again. Net code has been improved along with some other engine revamps. Though a massive work in progress, we have finally gotten the conflict lobby back online. Hop on over to www.conflictonline.net to play the game. Dedicated server and map editor are also available.
