I'm a big fan of the IL-2 Sturmovik series. If you don't know what IL-2 Sturmovik is, check it out in the online store.
Also, Mount & Blade: Warband and Rome: Total War are awesome.

This is a must-have game for anyone who enjoys strategy games. Many people feel it is the best Total War game out there, and I agree. Although the single player campaign can be easy, it will nevertheless keep you busy and entertained for many hours. Multiplayer and custom battles add more to the enjoyment. I highly recommend this game, especially at it's current price.
Arx Fatalis is a first person dungeon crawl RPG. The game has skill and attribute based leveling mechanics and basically lets you play as a warrior, mage, thief, or a mix. The game world is organized into 8 'levels' or regions but gameplay is not quite linear. Often times you will be going up and down levels for quests. The main focus is the central storyline, which is fairly good but nothing extraordinary. There are several side quests you can complete as well. The game has wonderful atmosphere- each level is very different and immersive. Controls are rather clunky, as is combat. Magic is unique- you 'draw' out rune shapes with your cursor to cast spells. There is a wide variety of objects in the game- different sets of armor, weapons, potions, food, misc. items, etc. The game doesn't have a lot of replayability, except for playing different classes or character types. However, the game isn't short, either. I would recommend this game to any RPG fan, especially when it's on sale.
Terraria is a very unique and interesting game. Combat and exploration are both enjoyable and the content the game offers continues to expand with new updates. Great if you're looking for simple fun in a sandbox style world.
